Training is a significant part of what I do as an analyst. I am constantly picking up new things when working with clients that I use for training, and vice versa, forming a virtuous cycle. I aim to combine subject matter expertise with clear communication.
Below are some samples of my work. These examples are arranged in order of technical difficulty. If your organization can benefit from data education, please get in touch.
1. Excel 101
A “leave-behind” manual for students formally learning Excel for the first time. This is meant for individuals and small business owners to see the value that Excel can unlock.
2. Introduction to data types in R
A segment of slides given at a workshop at Hillsdale College, teaching liberal arts students with no prior coding background the basics of working in R
.
3. Path analysis and mediation in lavaan
A brief presentation for the Greater Cleveland R
users group on establishing statistical mediation and causation. This demonstrates to a wide range of data science professionals a common technique in the academic social sciences, using free software.
